Edsa Shangrila Hotel, Philippines

Dining at the famous Heat Restaurant inside Edsa Shangrila Hotel is an experience and a lifestyle. The moment you get inside, one is welcomed by beautiful and smiling ladies who will assist you in the table that you want.

By the time you are settled, the handsome men and women of Heat will come near you to ensure that your comfort is well attended. Going around the sumptuous and mouth watering display of foods, the smiling faces of the Chefs will patiently explain and even offer a different mix that he will be glad to make for you.

Of course dining is made perfect with a friend or friends to share the evening. As for me, last night was one of the best, with Mary Ann Montemayor, a guest from Davao, sharing ideas, thoughts, experiences, while getting a good glimpse of the food outlay of the famous "Heat Restaurant".

On your next trip to Manila, please visit or better stay at Edsa Shangrila Hotel.

Mary is the Queen of the Philippines

The Philippines, being predominantly Catholic and Filipinos being of so much faith has a heart so close to Mary. Rosaries and devotion to this wonderful woman is almost in the heart of every person in this country. Churches in honor of the Mother of God can be found in almost all places.
It is mostly believed, that in times of calamities and hardships, Mama Mary, as we fondly call her, covers the Philippines and the Filipinos, with the blue mantle of her love and protection as shows in this photo.
For today, I would like to say....Happy Happy birthday Mama Mary!

The Life of Connecting and Connections

Life is about talking, life is about sharing, life is about constant connecting.  It could not be that life is without anyone, that life is just being silent, or life is about just sitting down the whole day.

Life for a Filipino means talking, sharing, taking time, discussing, debating and most of all laughing.  This is one trait that Filipinos have, whether they be in the most joyful situation, or being submerged in a 12 feet flood like Ondoy.

For a Filipino, survival is about laughing and being laughed at.  For a Filipino, life without pain could have been the most miserable situation he could find himself in.  For a Filipino, what is important is chika, chika, chika....no wonder text, chat and cafe's are one of the most frequented areas of our daily life.

Life for a Filipino is to be able to TOUCH...

Beautiful and Gorgeous in the Philippines: Sunday is always a day for the Lord in the Philipp...

Sunday is always a day for the Lord in the Philippines.  Whatever religion you belong, Catholic, Christian, you will find a church or community that you can commune on a Sunday, to pray, to thank and to be one with other believers.

We had our service at the famous Edsa Shrine, where it stands for the victory of the people against Marcos in 1986.  Thus this Shrine was built to thank the Lord and acknowledge the protection of the Blessed Mother, for her unending protection on the Filipino people.

It is one of the places worth visiting and perhaps commune in silence and prayer.
